ISLÂNDIA | ICELAND

Tive a oportunidade de visitar a Islândia no inverno, época em que o sol está acima do horizonte por apenas quatro horas ao dia. Apesar dos fortes ventos, o frio não era tão intenso quanto se antecipava, e a luz suave do sol era compensada pela lua. As paisagens e atmosferas são completamente singulares para um fotógrafo que vem dos trópicos. Certamente, as regiões polares me cativaram e agora terei que voltar e conhecer melhor estes extremos da Terra.

I had the opportunity to visit Iceland in the winter, a time of the year when the sun is above the horizon for only a mere four hours per day. Despite the strong winds, the cold was not as intense as I had anticipated, and the soft light of the sun was compensated by the moon. The landscapes and atmospheres are completely different to a photographer that comes from the tropics. Certainly, the polar regions have captivated me and now I will have to go back and get to know better these extremes of the Earth.
